Like many artists,
Chris Kruse got his start at a young age. A bit unconventional, Chris's
art wasn't well accepted by his folks. You see, young Chris began his
career drawing on his parents' walls and furniture. A product of the seventies
and a native Texan, Chris naturally found a passion in yet another form
of art. His love of music pulled him away from the canvas and steered
him across the state of Texas, performing and recording with numerous
bands.
Over the years, his own artistic direction eluded him until the day he
arrived at the "Crossroads" in Clarksdale, Mississippi. This
is where he found that his love of art, music, history, and people would
become a formula for the original expression he was seeking. "Life
is about people and everyone has a story to share," Chris explains.
"I enjoy making art that serves as a small window to that special
story."
Chris paints with the purpose of preserving the memory of influential
people in American Pop Culture. His honest and primitive style in acrylics
on weathered wood, reflect the raw, human, and home-grown nature of his
art. Subjects of historical and sentimental significance find their way
through Chris' brush strokes to delight a wide range of ages and cultures.
Chris and his wife
